The approach

A considered plan, not a passive hope.

My work treats wellness as a plan you build and revise, on an unusually science-forward foundation — I trained alongside Yale physicians, studied epidemiology under Dr. David Katz, and learned bioidentical hormones with Dr. Jonathan Wright.

Two decades on, I'm still in the same place, doing the same thing: the extra hour, every paper read, the whole person treated as the whole case. I hold myself to the standard I ask of my patients — in my fifties, and in better shape than I was in my forties. Not genetics. Consistency.

How I got here

Unlike many of my peers, I came up through a genuinely science-forward clinical education. After a B.S. in both biology and psychology, I earned my doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at the University of Bridgeport, then became one of the first Naturopathic Doctors licensed in California.

As part of Bridgeport's inaugural College of Naturopathic Medicine class, I trained directly alongside Yale physicians and public health leaders, with clinical rotations at Griffin Hospital and Yale's integrative medical center, and epidemiology under Dr. David Katz.

My clinical grounding runs deep: a primary care residency at the Weight Loss & Natural Medicine Clinic in Cheshire, Connecticut, treating thyroid disorders, menstrual irregularities, perimenopause, PCOS, autoimmune disease, food allergies and more. The root-cause instinct started there.

Off the clock

I live the protocol.

The Live Young name is not a slogan I hide behind. In my fifties I am fitter than I was at forty, and it is the same unglamorous plan I ask of my patients, run consistently for years: strength work, hormones dialed in, protein first, sleep protected, and testing that keeps me honest.

Away from the clinic you'll find me in the garden that feeds most of that Mediterranean plate, writing my column, or on a podcast arguing that evidence-based never has to mean boring.

Slower medicine is better medicine, and I am more convinced of that now than the day I opened the doors. Give a person real time and honest answers, and the rest tends to follow.
