Exosome Therapy in Los Gatos
Cellular messengers for repair: most established in hair and skin, youngest everywhere else, and labeled accordingly.
When hair thins and skin stops repairing the way it used to, the problem is usually signaling, not effort. Exosomes are the body's signaling packets: micro-vesicles carrying the proteins and genetic instructions cells use to coordinate repair. Here is what they are, what they do, and where I actually use them.

What are exosomes?
Exosomes are how cells talk to each other. Delivered as a therapy, they carry repair instructions into tissue that has stopped responding well on its own: switching collagen production back on, calming inflammation, restoring follicle signaling. They activate your own repair systems rather than overriding them.
Where the evidence stands
Frontier
Every tool on this site carries a grade, and exosomes sit at Frontier: a real mechanism, genuinely exciting research, and less settled ground than almost anything else I use. There are two honest tiers inside that. Hair and skin are where exosome use is most established in practice, and where we use them most. The systemic work, joints, muscle, brain, heart, metabolism, is younger science: real studies, early days, and I would rather show you the papers than paraphrase them into promises.
Where we use them
| Application | What happens |
|---|---|
| Hair restoration | Exosomes delivered to the scalp to restore follicle signaling and scalp health. No surgery, no downtime |
| Skin and facial rejuvenation | SkinPen microneedling with exosomes: collagen and elastin production, firmness, smoothness, tone |
| Pain and orthopedic recovery | Exosomes placed at injured tissue under imaging guidance, focused on how the tissue heals rather than on masking pain signals |
| Respiratory and immune support | Nebulized exosome therapy: non-invasive, used for lung health, immune regulation and systemic recovery |
| Longevity and systemic repair | Joint, muscle, brain, heart and metabolic support, where your case and the current evidence justify it |
Exosomes also stack: IV antioxidant infusions (vitamin C, glutathione), PRP from your own blood, and repair peptides like GHK-Cu and BPC-157 (more on those here) are the usual companions.
How treatment is planned
Exosomes get planned off data like everything else here. Depending on your case that means hormone panels (including PSA and DHT for men), inflammation and autoimmune markers, gut testing, and longevity metrics like VO₂ max and DEXA. The full diagnostic arsenal lives at the clinic; your consult decides which pieces your plan actually needs.
The first consultation is free, in person or virtual. Treatment courses for skin and hair typically run 3 to 5 sessions spaced a few weeks apart, 5 to 6 or more for deeper wrinkles, scars or more advanced hair loss, with follow-ups tracking measurable markers.
Why do this with me
Every exosome session at our Los Gatos clinic is performed by a doctor, not handed to a tech: me, or Dr. Chrystal, our Head of Medical Aesthetics, dual-licensed ND and DC, certified in PRP hair restoration and facial rejuvenation, and at the clinic since 2010.
And because exosomes are frontier biology, they get frontier discipline: a plan built on your labs, honest labels on every claim, and follow-ups that measure whether it is working rather than assume it.
FAQ
How many treatments will I need?
For a skin refresh or mild hair thinning, most people do 3 to 5 treatments spaced a few weeks apart. Deeper wrinkles, scars, or more advanced hair loss may need 5 to 6 or more.
How long do results last?
A year or more, depending on your skin or scalp health and lifestyle. Regular follow-ups maintain and often build on the benefits.
